  • Chilla is sharing an Amazon update as his Awesome Thing of the Week. Specifically, Alexa voice controls are now available on Apple iOS.
  • Chilla’s #1 use for his home automation set-up is to turn his TV on and off.
  • If Alexa is broken, Chilla doesn’t watch TV.
  • The Home Pod sits next to the Echo Dot.
  • Sorg keeps going back to previous Awesome Thing of the Week nods as his current item. This week he’s talking some Pokemon GO updates.
  • Of course Sorg was playing Pokemon GO while filming on location with a client shoot.
  • You can FINALLY make friends on Pokemon GO and trade Pokemon.
  • Pokemon did a remake of Pokemon Yellow for Pokemon Let’s Go. Max is sharing some thoughts about it AND the pokeball Joycon controller.
  • Max was on-site at E3 2018 and is sharing some of his insights.
  • Red Dead Redemption in 4K is apparently AMAZING.
  • Brian is pretty excited about his new backpack.
  • Movie Pass competitors are striking back! Thanks to Brandon and Sorg for letting us know about AMC and Alamo Drafthouse responses.
  • E3 opened back up to the public this year. Things were a little different this year than last year, though.
  • Thanks to Katie for sharing Fortnite shaved ice with us from the road.
  • Chilla is looking for dongle tricks.

  • Krause’s Google Assistant has a twin sister.

AwesomeCast 352: Teraflops

Sorg is back in studio, and we’re getting creative due to an internet service outage.  We’re not going to let it stop us from talking about what’s new in tech this week – including some E3 chat! Chilla joins Sorg for a little extra geeky AwesomeCast 352, including:

  • Sorg troubleshoots some tech outages while podcasting.
  • Verizon has failed this podcast this week.
  • E3 was a thing that happened this week. We’re sharing some of the gaming news you should know.
  • Microsoft is giving us a backwards compatible console.
  • If we’re not live for next week’s show, we may be playing some Crimson Skies.
  • Pokemon GO has some anniversary events for players.
  • Sorg made some friends while traveling thanks to Pokemon GO gym takedowns.
  • There may be a “proper” Pokemon game via Nintendo Switch in our future.
  • We’re having some great discussions about Playstation Pro.
  • Teraflops are not to be confused with terrible flops.
  • Is XBox worth the $100 more than its competitors?
  • Chilla wants SSDs as an option for his gaming consoles.
  • Sorg and Chilla may be deep-diving gaming console backwards compatibility.
  • Is Playstation to XBox like going from Mac to PC?
  • Identical OS across consoles? We may like this idea of fluent design.
  • iMacs have upgradeable RAM and CPUs now?
